Digital Dentistry is an exciting field and Back 2 Basics Dentistry has been using this technology since 2012. Most recently we were the first in our area to obtain the new Prime Scan Digital scanner by Dentsply Sirona. This digital scanner replaces the impression goop used in the past to use to make models of patient’s teeth for crowns, bridges and some full mouth situation. In most cases the dentist now has more control over the final restoration as she/he designs the case using the dental software and then either uploads it to a partner dental lab or mill the final restoration in the office. This cuts down on multiple visits by the patient, the unpleasant goop, and adds a little more fun to the office and the patient.
